If you are a foreign student who has just arrived in Thailand and been searching for where to study A-LEVEL in Bangkok, you may see an A-LEVEL which is not what the A-LEVEL you are looking for.
What is the A-LEVEL in Thailand then?
In Thailand, we have an admission system called TCAS (Thai University Central Admission System), organised by the National Institution of Educational Testing Service and Commission on Higher Education. All final-year high school students in Thailand, or equivalents, have to sign up in the system in order to be enrolled into a university of their choice.
The purpose of TCAS is to make it easier for students in terms of their mobility, since they do not have to travel from one university to another to take the entrance exam. However, TCAS requires students to take many exams, and one of them is A-LEVEL (Applied Knowledge Level), which is different from A-LEVEL from the UK system that you know.
To make it clearer, A-LEVEL is shortened from Applied Knowledge Level, it is the exam that senior year high school students need to take to be enrolled in university in Thailand, but A-LEVEL from the UK system is a high school qualification, which is completely different.
Besides, in Thailand, another famous high school equivalency diploma is GED. If you would like to learn more about studying GED in Bangkok, Thailand, you can contact The Planner for more information.
